'In The Garden'

I'm back ! Hopefully my computer will behave so that I can get back to enjoying looking at my favourite blogs and sharing my love for crafting with you.

So here goes, this weeks My Time To Craft Challenge was 'In The Garden', so I would like to share with you two scrapbook pages done with photo's of my two boys from 1997 (Zachary 4 and Joshua 2). These were done as a double page spread as that is how I always like to work when scrapbooking.

I may possible be slightly bias but don't they look cute!!

And how time flies because this week Zachary had his school prom! Here he is dressed for the night.

This was certainly out of his comfort zone wearing a suit as he is normally in jeans and football shirt like most teenagers but considering he was not looking forward to the evening Zac said it had been a great night.

Knitting ( Yes you've not read that wrong it does say knitting!!!)

Fozzie, Zachary & Joshua are away today watching Glasgow Rangers ( they are season ticket holders, this may not sound too surprising but bare in mind we do live in Leeds not Scotland).Must add that they have won the SPL today so all three will be happy bunnies when they arrive home later tonight.
As my laptop is still playing silly beggars when connecting to the internet I am using Fozzie's to add this post and to visit some of my favourite blogs, but I have not been idle over the last few weeks and just thought I would like to show you what I've been doing. Firstly it must be some twenty years since I last did any knitting but suddenly I got the urge. I've started of simply and they may not be perfect but I have enjoyed doing a few basic things.

No buttons yet as I'm still looking for some.

The wrap pictured above is my favourite and will be extremely cozy to wear in Autumn/Winter.

Right that's enough of my ramblings I'm off to visit a few blogs and catch up with what you are all up to and to get inspired.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge

Unfortunately I have been having computer problems ( yet again! ) and keep losing internet connection even though other computers in the house and games consoles are having no problems, so it must be my computer that has the problem. Repairing it will have to wait as other things are taking priority financially so I’m only able to get on the internet to view my favourite blogs occasionally, so please except my apologise for not leaving comments as I have only tried to see as much as I can. Sorry!

This ATC has been created for Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge which is to include ‘FLOWERS’ on you project.

Materials

Card - K&Company Classic Margo Mat Pad, Tag Pad
Die - Flowers by Cuttlebug
Other - Wire, Adhesive Stones

Love using these Cuttlebug dies , for the butterfly I have cut into the flower and taken just two petals to create the wings.

Tag You're It !

This is the first time I have made a tag specifically for a challenge but when I saw the design teams tags on the Tag You're It blog which are fabulous I decided to have ago. Only had an hour for this but desperately wanted to use my new K&Company products, sorry about the quality of the photo but the weather hear is mixed and ever time I get the camera out the sun goes in and the heavens open.

'Motherhood is not for whimps!!!'

How true is that saying?
Unfortunately my youngest son Joshua has been poorly lately and was given some penicillin for tonsillitis and an inhaler because he was wheezing. Then he had an allergic reaction to the medication and came out in a rash ALL over his body which was extremely itchy. Due to Joshua's medical history ( he was diagnosed with ALL ( Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when he was 5 )the doctor decided he had to check with the hospital before any further treatment could be given. I know the doctor was only being thorough but watching Joshua in pain and so uncomfortable was so hard. Finally new medication was prescribed and all now seems to be getting better.
Sorry about the ramblings of a tired and concerned mother, I'm sure many of you can understand and relate to this.

Here's a picture of Joshua taken earlier in the year , I wonder does he need his hair cutting?

Hopefully I will be posting a card in a couple of days, all my fat pages for the swap on the Joanna Sheen forum were posted out several days ago so now I have some time for other crafting.

Dutch Dare Card Challenge #33

Craft like an Egyptian

I decided to do something a bit different and make a fat book page for this weeks One Stop Craft Challenge which is 'craft like an Egyptian & other countries'. Several weeks ago on the Joanna Sheen forum I joined in the Egyptian fat book swap and after receiving all my pages from the talented forum members this has given me a chance to add a page to my book.

'Button It'

This is just a quickie today but realised it had been a while since I last posted anything, so an effort had to be made.
Last Tuesday I had a tooth extracted with the result of a great deal of pain and a swollen face, not a pretty picture. Feel so much better to day and decided to make this card for the Arty Girlz challenge which is 'button it'.

I think I may have over done the purple here but it is one of my favourite colours so what the heck.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I have been a bit lacks recently on the crafting front and have been unable to post any new cards. As you will all know Christmas seems to have taken over and little else has got done in our household, now Fozzie has the sickness and diarrhoea bug and I am full of cold, the boys have managed to avoid catching anything up to press.

Black 'n' White Cutie Sunday

Decided to do an ATC for this weeks Cutie Sunday challenge which was 'black and white'.
I have used an image of Charlie Chaplin and various other images related to film and movie making. Have to say I do love watching old movies especially Laurel and Hardy and Harold Lloyd, movie making has moved on with computers and special effects but the innocence and slap stick comedy of old is fab to watch.

Friday Sketchers 'Sketch 25'

Finally managed to get the chance to create a card for this weeks Friday Sketchers challenge.

Time as usual has been at a premium but needed to get a crafty fix as I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms!

I've used a different set of papers from Dovecraft's Tis the Season value paper pack, once cut to size the edges were chalked and matted onto white card.

Found this fun stamp in my christmas stash but not quite sure were it came from, it may have been in a kit from QVC. The image has been coloured using watercolour pencils , sparkling ric rac ribbon was attached to the side and then mounted onto the card with foam tape.

Finally to add a bit more dimension Papermania adhesive stones have been fixed in the centre of the snowflakes.

Saturday Challenge

This card is my entry for the Saturday Challenge which was a sketch.
I'm afraid I have used those papers again from DCWV ( I did warn you all ) and edged with pro markers. The image is from the new Sugar Nellie range and coloured with pro makers.
The sentiment was also included in the papers and adhesive pearls from Papermania were attached in the corners of the image and three down the side of the card. The ribbon again is from my bit box.
This has had to be a bit of a quick card but nevertheless thanks for taking the time to look, hope you all have a great week-end.

Milly's Snowy Day

This card is for the 1st ever Pollycraft Monday Challenge which is 'Christmas- with no red'.

The papers used are from DCWV Christmas multi stack ( rose-tinted Christmas ). I really love these papers and you will see them used on a number of my card for this Christmas.
Once the papers were cut to size they were edged with pro markers. The image is a download from Pollycraft called Milly and has been coloured with pro markers, you can't see from the photo but a sakura glitter pen has been used to highlight the snowflakes,coat collar and hat pom pom.
Finally the greeting was mounted on top of some ribbon from my bit box and some silver snowflakes were attached.

" Snow Cozy "

Here is my card for this weeks Friday Sketchers sketch 23.

The papers I've used are from the Christmas Stack from DCWV and have been edged using a red ink pad. I really love the new stamps from Sugar Nellie this one is called " snow cozy "and has been coloured using Letraset Pro Markers. The message stamp is from Butterfly Kisses and has been attached to the card with glittery ric rac ribbon . In the middle of the punched out snowflakes are red crystals unfortunately the photo does not show this very clearly.

I think it's only fair to mention that my son Joshua stamped out the message and insisted I use it on this card , if only getting him to do his homework were as easy!!

Ho Ho Ho

I've had another busy week and not managed to do any challenges until today, only spent time on the computer to deal with any e-mails or post thank yous on the Joanna Sheen forum really looking forward to catching up with all my favourite blogs.

Here's my card to cover two challenges firstly the Cutie Sunday challenge sketch 12 and the Arty Girlz challenge which was to use the colour "red".

The papers used are from DCWV the glitter Christmas stack and these have been inked around the edges. The Santa image is from Butterfly Kisses and has been coloured with Letraset pro markers. Snowflakes punched from blue glitter card and 4 pieces of ribbon with knots tied in the middle were used to complete the card.

Joanna Sheen Challenge/Tanda Teaser

Well I appear to be back up and running on my computer ( well for the moment any way ) so here is my card for this weeks Joanna Sheen Challenge which was to use " ribbon "and this weeks Tanda Teaser challenge which was "significant numbers " . This was made for a friend who celebrated her 50th birthday recently.

The stamp used is from Big Flowers theme plate by Elusive Images, it has been coloured using watercolour pencils and beads have been sewn in the middle of each petal. Ribbon has been tied in a knot down the side of the card and also used to embellish the tag.

Computer Problems!!!!!!!!

Purple and Green Challenge

This weeks Sarah Kay Weekly Challenge is to use a purple and green colour combination. Once again sorry about the quality of this picture but unfortunately there was not a lot of light when a photographed it.
The papers used are by Fancy Pants and Daisy Bucket. The image has been coloured in using Letraset Pro Markers and them mounted on to a scalloped edged rectangle, in this case from one of Craftwork Cards ruffles packs. This was then attached to the card using foam pads to raise it slightly. All the paper flowers and glittered brad are from Making Memories.

Tilda Goes Dutch!!!

Here is my card for the Dutch Dare-Card Challenge which this week was to "make a card for a girl" , I have used this weeks sketch #08 on the Cutie Sunday blog also. This is the first time I have entered either of these challenges but having seen them mentioned on other blogs decided to have a go.
The papers I've used are by Dovecraft, retro floral prints. Having just received this Tilda stamp I thought I'd use it here and have coloured the image with Letraset Pro Markers. The red oval card was embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder(bloom dots) and Tilda was mounted on top. Finally I made two Tilda bows with a type of raffia ribbon and secured them with embroidery cotton.

Sketch Saturday Sketch #14

Here is my card for this weeks Saturday Sketch challenge ( sketch #14 ).

I really love this papers by DCWV ( rose tinted christmas multi stack ) so have used 4 different ones from the stack. The scribble snowman is a stamp by Funstamps which has been coloured using watercolour pencils. Pink velvet ribbon has been embellished with snowflake punched shapes , punched from glitter card which is not easy to tell from the photo , and adhesive pearls.

Little Dumplings Rise to the Challenge!!!!!!!

This card fulfills the criteria for two challenges the first is the Papertake Weekly Challenge which was "a stitch in time" and the second is the Friday Sketchers sketch number 16.

The papers I have used are by Daisy Bucket Designs and the image is another download from Pollycraft Designs , the little dumplings range. The image has been stitched around the edges with embroidery cotton . The tag shape, made from denim material, was made using my sizzix machine and was further embellished with stitching , ribbon and a free sentiment from a magazine. Finally different sized buttons with embroidery cotton tied in a knot were added.

This card may be sent to my nephew Harry who is 8 on the 1st September, I've not quite decided .

Sketch Saturday Sketch #12

Well here is my card for this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge ( sketch #12 ).

Papers used were by Crate papers, they have been cut to size then chalked around the edges. The dot flourish stamp is by Inkadinkado and after stamping with versa mark ink was also chalked. The image I have used is a download from Pollycraft Designs and is part of the Little Dumpling range. There is a varied selection and all come with images already coloured and some to colour yourself, these are fab images well worth a look. Finally paper flowers and pearlised crystals were added.

Bright and Cheerful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge was to use "bright colours".

Again I'm afraid I don't remember who's papers I have used as they were in my scrap box. This wonderful image is from Bootiful Stampz and is called Maggie, it has been coloured using Letraset Pro Markers. After punching flowers out of vellum they were embellished with buttons and embroidery cotton.

As I love this image so much I decided to show another card made some time ago using the same image.

Shapes Galore

This weeks Arty Girlz Weekly Challenge was to use "shapes" on your creation.
I'm afraid I can't tell you the make of the paper as it just came out of my scrap box. The image is a stamp from Cuddly Buddly called Charley which was coloured using Letraset Pro Markers ( not my best colouring in but I was slightly rushed, well that's my excuse).
The ovals shapes were embellished with ric-rac ribbon and a further sentiment stamp from Cuddly Buddly was used to create the circle in centre of the flower.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

The Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week involved using "ribbons" somewhere on your project. Organza ribbon was used to create the flower and green wire to secure it tightly at the back. I used papers by Daisy Bucket and after stamping this lovely image water coloured it using my trusty Faber-Castell pencils. Ribbon also used as corners on the image and finally coloured a peel off and attached to card.

Meow !!!!

The theme for this weeks My Time To Craft Challenge is "Cats".
Papers used are Pets by Dovecraft. The stamp I have had for ages but believe came from QVC's Home and Heart range has been coloured using Letraset Pro Markers. Finally four buttons with embroidery cotton were attached to create a paw print.
Sadly Kate's cat Poppy passed away recently so the challenge has been dedicated to her.

This ATC also covers a second challenge as the Papertake Weekly Challenge this week is "Button It" , two for one!!!!!!!!

Friday Sketchers

Made this card for Friday Sketchers sketch no 14, this week sponsored by Paperbasics.
Papers used are by K&Company, their Urban Rhapsody pad, and were cut and chalked around the edges. The Tilda stamp was water coloured and Making Memories ric rac ribbon and paper flowers used as embellishments.

The papers used are the Pocket Full of Posies Stack and Mini Scalloped Cardstock Stack both from DCWV. After layering three flowers a flower brad from Making Memories was used to hold them together, finally coloured a peel off sentiment and mounted on card

My Craft Space?

Decided to post a few pictures of my crafting area. I would love to have a dedicated area for my crafting but short of evicting my two children ( who are 13 & 15 ) it's not going to happen any time soon.

So where is my craft space? Well it is in our "kitchen".

I try to label boxes and catalogue what is in each one but it's not really working, I lose things or forget where they are and end up buying it twice!

After looking at other peoples blogs and seeing their craft area I'm green with envy.

Vintage ATC

This weeks Arty Girls Weekly Challenge was "Vintage", not really my forte but decided to have a go in the form of an ATC. The background paper is from Joanna Sheen and has a beautiful pearlescent sheen which my photo does not do justice to. The image was a free download from http://www.digitalcollagesheets.com/ . Gold photo corners, a fabric flower and pearls were used as embellishments.

With reference to my previous post Plastered!!!!!!!!! I can give you an update on Fozzie's wrist. When we went to the fracture clinic it was confirmed he had broken it in two places and lightweight plaster was put on. Hopefully at the end of four weeks this will be removed.

He will now have to suffer my driving so this should make him think twice about how he next exit his van!!!!!!! or so he says.

Plastered!!!!!!!!

No card I'm afraid as on Friday Fozzie,my husband had an accident at work he fell backwards and put his hand out to save himself but his wrist took the full impact of the fall. Not thinking he'd done any real damage he continued driving back to the depot. I was of the opinion that we should go to hospital that night but no we waited until the morning. After x-rays we were told he had broken his wrist in two places, so he got plastered!!!!!!!!!!! Only a temporary plaster was put on and an appointment made to see the orthopedic surgeon at the fracture clinic. I must say he's not impressed and finding it quite restrictive but he gets away with no washing up.
We go away for a few days soon so it looks like I'm driving!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was busy before but now even less time for my bit of luxury, crafting but it won't always be, hopefully now with the school holidays around the corner things will ease up.

Hello everyone sorry I've not been posting much lately but have had very little time due to my jobs and family commitments. The next few week thing will continue to be busy as we have a short holiday coming up but making a little time for myself and crafting really helps recharge my batteries.

Blowing In The Wind

The My Time To Craft Challenge this week was Seasons & the Cute Card Thursday Challenge was The great outdoors this card hopefully fulfills both criteria. Paper used was by s.e.i, I chalked round the outside and round the base card. Tilda was stamped the water coloured. Found these lovely leaves in my stash, there by Forever Flowers and used them to frame the image.
Now I must make an effort to start my Summertime fat book pages for the Joanna Sheen forum challenge. Hope you are all having a great day weather permitting.

Tilda & Co Challenge - Sketch

This weeks Tilda & Co Challenge was a sketch. On this card I have used papers by Crate Papers

(surprise , surprise) and a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the green card. After stamping the image I used Letraset Pro Markers to colour it in. Ribbon and handmade paper flowers with flat back crystals were used as embellishments.

Hopefully I've got this in just in time, the Papertake Challenge this week is Katharina's Sketch #5. Papers used here are from the scalloped cardstock stack by DCWV and the patterened paper is from Crate Paper. With the punched out shapes I used embrodiery thread to produce the spirella embellishments.

Joanna Sheen Challenge Fabric

I made this card for the Joanna Sheen challenge which this week is Fabric. The front of the card is covered with a piece of fabric from my scrap box and then I stamped and chalked the rose image. Finally the corners have been highlighted using corner peel off's.

Mum and Dad Wedding Anniversary Card

I'm sad to say I didn't have a lot of time to make this card ( due to my memory or lack of it! ). But when mum opened it she was thrilled as it brought back those wedding day memories. Next year the card will be made in plenty of time.

Circles / Canine Capers

Circles is the theme for the My Time To Craft Challenge this week. The background papers are from Dovecraft and a cuttlebug folder used to provide a bit of texture. The dog image was simply stamped and embossed. Thanks to Chrisse and Ann ( Joanna Sheen forum members) I'm now aware that this card also fit this weeks Tanda Teaser which is canine capers.

Cute Card Thursday Challange

Here goes!!!!

My first ever post is a card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge which this week was Make a Birthday Card. I have stamped Maggie, from Bootiful Stampz range and coloured her in using Letraset Pro Markers. The papers are by Three Bugs in a Rug and I used my fantastic new Cuttlebug folders ( well new to me!!!).

The description sounds a bit vague but hopefully they will get better, hope you like my first effort. Please feel free to comment.
